Empowering a marketing department - case study

THE CHALLENGE


The Chief Marketing Officer of a large franchise organization wanted to elevate the marketing department’s performance by fostering greater empowerment and ownership at every level. While the team was talented, the lack of a shared language and role-specific leadership skills limited their ability to fully deliver on strategic priorities.

THE SALT APPROACH 


We designed and facilitated a full-day workshop for the entire department. The morning brought everyone together to establish common ownership concepts based on The Middle Matters. The afternoon featured rotating sessions tailored to each level: individual contributors on managing up, middle leaders on empowerment, and senior leaders on culture. The day closed with a team-wide readout to reinforce alignment and accountability.
